During the construction of the new addition we will be periodically adding new pictures to this page to keep everyone informed of the progress thus far.

The removal of the original candyroom and storage room

Jampot closed on Saturday the 18th of October. The following Monday we began removing the candy room, a small storage room, a section of the kitchen and the loading dock. Doing this cleared the site and allowed us to begin the construction of the new addition by laying the foundation.

Nine days after the necessary demolition the foundation had been laid and we poured and screeded the concrete ground floor.

A couple of weeks later we had framed in the first floor and raised the walls on the second floor. This picture gives a view of the addition in relation to the existing Jampot building.

By the middle of November the snow had begun to fall and we hurried to get the roof on before the snow filled in the second floor.

By the end of the day the trusses were in place and we were ready to begin the roof.

By the following week the roof was almost finished and the building mostly closed in.

With the roof completed we are now able to begin installing plumbing, electrical, and heating and air conditioning.

This view shows the utility room which will house most of the compressors, boilers, and various electrical machinery. The addition required an extensive network of electrical wires, hot and cold water lines, gas lines, and even compressed air for some of the equipment.

In order to connect the addition to the original building, we removed most of the old south wall of the existing kitchen and expanded the kitchen by two feet. The doorframe on the left side of the photograph has since been removed as well.
